Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I know if I should work with Alanna?
If you feel an inner urge or have been drawn to my work then I would encourage you to follow that intuitive guidance. Often that is Spirit’s way of answering your prayers for “help”, “guidance”, or “direction”. This is why I offer a complimentary preliminary consultation so you can feel into it further and see if it’s a fit for you at no risk. The clients that tend to get the most value from working with me are those who are committed to their growth, are ready to take the next step forward, and are willing and able to invest the resources necessary to do so. My clients are typically on some form of a spiritual path and are open to the idea of intuitive support as part of their process. As a client it’s important to understand that you are personally responsible for your choices, actions and what manifests as a result of that. Please know that as an intuitive I don’t see or know everything, but only that which is for your highest good, and any perceptions of future events can shift and change instantly depending on your choices and actions. It’s also important to understand that you may not always hear what you want to hear, but you will always hear my honest interpretation of the information that comes forward and I will always share it in a loving, supportive way. Like anything else, consistency with sessions is the key to creating lasting change and success. Committing to ongoing sessions will create a supportive structure and build momentum in moving forward, while being held accountable and guided along the way.
Why are Awakening sessions done by phone?
Working by phone allows me to tune into you at a deeper, more focused level, with no outside distractions. I see, feel, and work with energy the same if you are sitting in front of me or in another state or country, as many of my clients are. Because we are working with energy, remote healing is just as powerful as doing it in person. Working with someone in person sometimes adds unnecessary energetic and physical distractions and can slow or hinder the process. Phone sessions allow you to be in a safe, comfortable, private, relaxed space, which allows the energy to flow more freely and clearly between us, giving me a clearer read of what’s at the heart of the issue.
How long does the coaching relationship last?
It really depends on the client’s intentions, goals, and what they want to accomplish. Clients often work with me for a significant period of time, from several months to several years. A three month minimum commitment is recommended to see significant results, and many clients find that as they bring one area of their life into balance they become highly motivated to focus on other areas as well. Clients love the process so much, along with having a neutral sounding board, an accountability partner, and an intuitive guide, that they continue with their sessions as a way to support and nurture themselves as they to move forward on their path.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapeutic relationships typically view the therapist as the expert and the client as needing psychological help, or “fixing”. Psychotherapy and counseling is often about helping people heal their emotional wounds by looking backwards, reliving past pain, to try to help you understand why you are the way you are. The coaching relationship is an empowering, collaborative, equal partnership between the coach and client to help the client consciously create the life they want with more balance, joy and fulfillment. While emotional healing can occur as part of the process, coaching is about helping people achieve their highest level of fulfillment, happiness, overall wellbeing, and success. A good coach sees their client as having all of the inner resources necessary to achieve whatever they can imagine, want, or desire. A coach’s job is to listen deeply, tell the microscopic truth about what they see happening, ask good questions that allow the client to discover what they want and what they are willing to commit to, then use tools and skills to assist the client in moving forward. In doing so, the coach facilitates the client’s self-discovery and reconnection to their deep inner truths, gifts, and purpose, untimely, awakening the divine within themselves.
What if I don’t know what exactly I want or even what my problem or issue is?
Then you have come to the right place. One of my greatest gifts is helping clients see what’s really going on beneath the surface and facilitating them in the discovery of what their heart longs for. It’s OK if you are still unclear about what you want and you certainly don’t need to have any idea of how you’ll get it. Much of the value of coaching comes from the clarity that the process provides. I would encourage you to be open to new ideas and possibilities and I suggest setting an intention around discovery, receptivity, and revelation as we work together.
